I have a 1987 900 8 valve non turbo. I am getting a new exhuast soon, including an MSS header, but I don't know what to do after the cat. This is the BIG question: What is the best size pipe? I love 2.5", as long as it doesn't kill low end torque. I've heard that 2.25" is still too much for a non turbo. What do you think?

Here's the other thing>> I want to get a NICE muffler and I just love flowmasters. I have narrowed it down to either the 50 series or the 50 series DF (dynaflow- little bit quieter). These are pretty much near the quieter end of the Flowmaster spectrum, but nonetheless a Flowmaster. Whad'ya think? I know of a local place that will make me a custom 2.5" exhuast for about $170, plus the muffler. Thanks a lot!
