The boost by-pass valve got the nick name 'hooter valve' because as the diaphragm starts to fail, they make a goose honking or hooting noise between shifts or at high boost pressure. Have your dealer look at it and he will probably replace it under warranty.
There are better by-pass valve avaiable like the Forge units, but they are faily expensive.
