I put a Trent RRFPR on my T16 this weekend. I set it as Trent suggest to 3.2 bar at idle with the vac off ( I have lucas FI so my original FPR was 3bar) I noticed an immediate improvement in power through out the range but especialy in the off boost pick up (at idle the engine seems quieter and smoother) - it just feel like the engine is not struggling so much. However the top end boost is less - it peaks quickly about 1/2 in the red but sharply drops down to a stable level just in the red - it does feel faster though. I would have thought my peak boost would be better than with my OE 3bar reg? - any chance of the higher fuel pressure working against the injectors and actualy preventing them from opening as quickly at high boost?
I may experiment with 3.0 bar as an initial setting .
BTW 900T16 with UK Lucas FI, Tweakers 'Red Box' mod, removed CAT, JR cone on AMM, moded vacuum retard - 20deg at idle - 9.5 deg at full boost.
