about a year ago I built myself an 85 spg which I love I did a few minor mods incl twisting the pots, flowier exhaust & 3bar fpr I have the wattercooled garett T3
I remembered getting about 1/2 or better red boost in cold weather last winter & had to turn up the OBPto cure the momentary FP shutoff on high boost& installed a modifyed clutch disk (was breaking loose new OE) but as things cooled down this season I dident get the same boost.
I looked for vac leaks & found none.
I remembered someone telling me I should run base boost at 1/2 desired total boost.
checked base boost & it was about 4-5 pounds!
turned it up to 8 & WOW!
I am making boost almoast to the end of the red & still 1/2 at 5krpm breaking loose the tires in 2nd on dry pavement & 3rd puts you firmly into the seat all the way to the rev limiter.
I did not realize that a saab could be so fast with such low budget mods.
I love my spg even more now Ill bet I can take a 5.0 mustang now
