that's what I thought about too. I posted link about a turbo acura, with garrett turbo and integral wg, and big improved top half power with isolated wg. You (brad) did a weld up mod, and Jeff C has some info at his site. The garret T3 is too crowded where wg dumps out, and hard to fix this. OI think oversized dp helps some.
link below shows advantage of the mitsu design, where flow can be isolted easily with a special downpipe. the garrett's would need to carry the wg valve in the housing, increasing expense a lot.
kooch, the wot switch actually closes at about 75-80% or so, IIRC, so you may still have had it tripped when u backed off.
