Does Upgraded APC help AC operation???

Can anyone tell me if an upgraded APC (from anywhere really, but specifically Abbott) will help with the drag the AC unit has on the engine at take off. I almost suspect that it would make matters worse. The biggest beef I have with the turbo engine is the incompatiblity with +85 degree days, AC, and managing RPMs at takeoff (especially on a hill).
I once lived in an apartment with a steep entrance into the garage...if it was hot out and I had the AC on, I would have to keep the RPMs at 3500 and slip the clutch up the grade to keep RPMs close to 3500. The garage forced me to swipe a card at the bottom of the hill, thereby stopping completely, wait for the door to open and try to race up the hill before the door closed. I eventually learned to turn off the AC before getting home, but I always feel like I have to manage RPMs to handle AC drag...especially at stop lights.
I was thinking I want more HP (who doesn't), but I am thinking I will get a more sudden turbo spool and just loose any sort of ability to manage traction at all.
Thanks for reading.
