seattle dyno daze was yesterday, with quite the showing. we had everything from early stock spg's to heavily modified 900t's to ng900 and a viggen. everything went well for most. steve y had a good pull with 238 at the wheels. i improved from my previous 174 to 200 at the wheels. definitely need to work on the boost taper at higher rpm, with peak at 19 and taper to 15 it's understood there is some power lost, maybe next time...

one common problem showed itself in all the 900t runs, too little fuel. both steve y and i ran with 30# injectors and rrfpr and would still lean out at high boost/high rpm conditions. thus the assumption that 30# injectors with rrfpr at wot will be too rich, is incorrect. it still is not enough for high boost/high rpm conditions. the a/f curve just isn't as steady as it should be. end result, too rich at some points resulting in lost power and too lean in others resulting in predet, lost boost and reduction in power. water can be used to prevent predet at higher boost(as steve successfully ran), but lean out still exists. i think that a good solid fuel curve that remains steady, will result in a smoother power curve and reduce the need for water (until extreme boost conditions are attempted). there was some talk for possibly adding an independantly controlled 5th injector to compensate for lean out at higher rpm only. however, it seems at this point that the only true way to accomplish optimum power is to dump the stock ecu for a completely mappable system. granted more expensive, but with all the "band-aids" i have purchased up until this point, i could have easily bought a new system. the only other possible correction i can think of is to change the spring rates in the rrfpr to get even more fuel per lb of boost. but, it still won't yield the ideal curve. my next big purchase will be a computer, now it's just a matter of which one...
