I now have the maptun ECU and I have found that I will get great boost but then it will begin to bounce quickly after.
This is from the last post I made:
I have noticed that the boost in my car is not steady after I hit around 15psi. If I floor it in 3rd gear I get to a max boost of 19/20psi and then it will quickly bob between 16psi and about 18/19psi. (all gears after you plug into 3rd) I am not sure why this is happening. I understand that with the Maptun ECU I should have a solid boost curve after about 2800RPMs and this boost curve as it is now is far from solid. Any ideas?
Also, I have noticed that my APC solenoid is humming a bit if I blip the throttle at idle. (it is so quiet that I cant hear if it is doing it if I don’t let off right away) I think this may be something. It sounds like a VERY quiet fog horn for a second or two. Is this the sign of a bad solenoid? If it is I think that may be one of the possible problems. Do any of you know if it can be fixed or is this a trash it and buy another one item?
---
I am thinking that it is getting old and maybe reacting a bit too slow for the ECU to take. Are there any other tests to do other than the blow test? I did that and it seemed ok... Thanks for your help.
Cheers,
Chris.
