crunching sound you're experiencing. Do you also have the lower stress bar, attached to the subframe? I do bottom out hitting that bar occasionally. But then I also have the Abbott lowering springs, and I do hit high crowns, and drive-way lips, etc. If you have that lower bar, this might be what you're hitting.
If the sound is coming from up high, like at the shock tower attachment point, I would suspect that the mounting bolt might be loose, and the threads of the bolt are rubbing through the mounting hole. (Supposition, only at this point, but worth checking).
Hope this helps, or at least gives you a place to start looking for the solution.
