I had good luck with SD for a while but then they started taking forever to send stuff, not responding to e-mails etc. It got to where they would only respond when I threatened to cancel the order. Even then they would promise a date and not live up to that promise. It happened enough times that I fianlly cancelled all my open orders with them.

You can buy K&N from a lot of sources, most cheaper than SD. Either the cone or cylinder shape. You might want to research the mounting bracket that SD touts too...it mounts where the stock air canister mount goes and holds up the filter so it's not hanging and stressing the AMM etc. It would probably be easy to fabricate something out of sheetmetal to suit the purpose. A rather chintzy mount though.

K&N also supplies a direct replacement for the stock airbox filter in the C900, I don't know about other models. Based on what people have said on this BB, it has near or the same positive effect as an open-air filter.
