Great info by all on this thread. I'm hooking up with my M3 and S4 buddies at Summitt Point race track in WV this weekend. A BMWCCA track instructor is going to be there. Curious what the response will be with me showing with my front-driver ;-)
No doubt the M's have the advantage with the ability to throttle steer, but I'm curious how much more the S4's have. My buddy put an AutoThority chip in his S4 -- 320hp, Quattro AWD. It's certainly heavier than the Viggen, but here he has all 4 wheels contributing to "go".
Recent read an article on Hurley Haywood (Porsche and Audi factory driver) stating that he'd take a heavier AWD car on a road course any day over a lighter 2WD car. In the long run he can wait longer to brake into the turns. By the end of the day, the race is won...
