I run external TiAl 35 or 40mm wastegates. I don't even play with internal gates if I don't have too. I might just toss a cheap Turbonetics Deltagate on the Saab manifold. With the smallish 58.x MM wheel inside the .48 A/R turbine housing there is a considerable amount of backpressure and reversion in the Saabs. An external gate would open a lot of that up and you would see a nice power gain and a car that is much more "off edge".
The REAL way to cure this is to upgrade the wheel to the stage-III 65mm T31 wheel like we use on the T3/T4 hybrids to make a lot of power.
I see many people stick a T04E compressor on the stock turbine and that is a big mistake...but I digress.
I'll probably run a water set up eventually. I love the water and use it on my other cars. I'm just trying to keep the Saab a low dollar project at this point. I may get a low pressure Spearco set up from a friend who has one for sale and blow it into the compressor housing for atomization so I don't have to drop $400 on the ERL. My Garrett friend gave me the green light on blowing water into the compressor housing. His word is gold in my book.
Thanks for the info on the stock injectors.
