Thanks for all the advice. There is some minimal wear on the second gear synch. Like many of you have mentioned after warm up it is ok. But Mike at SPG9 feels that just 5w-30 good motor oil is the best when you have some wear like this. I live about 1 mile from SPG9 in Atascadero CA and we do get some colder mornings (32F-40F)for SO California; after living in Wisconsin I do not find this cold but the oil is thicker. However I can easily avoid shifting into 2nd until my temp gauge is in the green. This SPG has the GM55704 Trans that I belive is specific to the SPG of 89' and 90'? I belive it has some higher perf parts. But down the line I am going to get it built up to handle 250+HP.
I like the idea of getting rid of the APC, it just seems like for higher boost levels closer to 20PSI it might be more safe to use the APC?
But by removing it it might help Fuel economy if you don't get premeture boost run up?
