Going with that size tire, you will be 2.6% to slow. I am not sure if there are 225-45's in your price range, but going this route, the speedo would only be .9% to fast + you would gain a little bit of wheel well room :o)
If it will work or not w/o lots of rubbing I don't have a clue. But I have 225-35-18's on my 88 SPG with intrax springs & me simply adding the sas air bags eliminated the rubbing. But I really didn't have much rubbing before either
