Thanks for the email and the post. The wideband O2 sensor sounds interesting. You're right, I think the closest, reputable Dynojet is 3 hours away. Haven't inquired as to cost, but I do know that the local muscle car guys trailer their race cars down there for tuning. Don't know if they're up for powerful FWD cars, not many serious FWD cars around here anyway. The local dynos also have safety related issues with powerful FWD cars, unfortunately, and I don't know if they're Dynojets. My friends and I joked around a bit about running our own biz with one of those dynos where you take the wheels off the car and mount the dyno to the hubs...

Back to the wideband. Can you provide more info? I followed the links previously posted (linked again in this post) but exactly how is this better than my current Autometer? My understanding of a wide band sensor is that it will tell you about all the other gases in the exhaust? Shall I just order all three kits listed on the site? I suppose I will also need a new sensor too, yes? My electronics and electrical skills are horrible. I can plug stuff together, even solder wires together!, but it would be far beyond my capabilities to put a circuit board together. If there's a single kit that I can just connect up, that would be best for me. What would you recommend?

I was also considering an injector duty cycle gauge (found at http://www.racerpartswholesale.com, p/n 9902) but then realized the SDS has this already. One of the guys on the Turbo! list indicated that with 3.0 Bar FPR (or was it RRFPR?) and 30#s on his LH2.4, it still indicated 100% at WOT. Ouch.

Thanks for the info on your top end. I was thinking that I'd rev it to 7000, but in reality, that would be my 'WEP' - War Emergency Power. Everyday driving I hardly exceed 5000. I have a set of cams from Crower coming, ground to the old Group 6 specs, should make things interesting at the top end, hopefully pull nicely past stock redline at least.

I read your other post, you may be interested in the 9000 FMIC mod, per what Kooch, ChrisX and numerous Swedes have done. Indeed today I was slaving away in the cold out in the garage and have pretty much finished mounting the thing. Note that I used a 91-98 9000 FMIC, not the older type. It involved cutting away the tow hooks on the rad support. Thanks to Kooch and ChrisX for their assistance. I think I have managed to get it in there nicely enough so that the top end is flush with the top of the rad support, so that it fits in like the AC condensor did. Still have to figure out the elbows, and that may involve cutting away some of the lower part of the bumper skin. Disappointing was that I don't think I can fit the RX7 (FC) oil cooler anywhere in there now. A novel interpretation of a 9000 FMIC, kinda like what EricZ has been up to can be found here: http://hem.passagen.se/kraco/

Once I decide on an EGT (either GReddy or Autometer) then I can get around to installing a few other gauges I have too...
