I'll go for the Maptun kit, except with bigger turbo (TD04 18T). I might have to change fuel pump and injectors which I don't really want, since after that point I'm afraid engine reliability will become a big issue. I don't know how much those pistons will withstand.
Also the compression ratio of 9.2 seems simply crazy for that kind of boost.. I will look into the possibility of lowering it. Furthermore, I don't know how efficient the intercooler will be (although I do have the cross-flow one).
I've thought of this nice idea (tell me what you think): install an electric switch under the dash cutting off power to the solenoid valve, and ask for the program to have a base boost of 0.6 bar. That way I can turn off the solenoid and have a nice, economical, not-too-slow LPT for driving around town. At night, outside town or whenever I encounter some smartass at a traffic light, with the flip of a switch the car transforms into a beast!!
BTW, regarding the Maptun car I was indeed impressed. I forgot to mention that my mechanic told me about some madman with a 2.0 litre 9000 ..it's tuned by Hirsch with 2.3 head and displacement increased to 3.0 litres!! It must be well capable of 400hp. The mechanic told me that the owner didn't let him drive it however. He also had 18" wheels with AP Racing mammoth-brakes. It seems that the car is used for street racing where serious bets are placed -don't want to get involved in that sort of thing..
