I've done it. I installed it in the lower center console, near where the key goes. I installed a push-button momentary switch there and it connects to two wires to the ignition (though I don't recall which ones).
One thing that I was concerned about was in the event that someone sees the button (it's red) and wants to mess around with it, it'll engage the starter even if the key isn't in. Thus, the car will surge backward a tad when it's pressed (if the clutch is not depressed). To remedy this, I installed a very small toggle switch where the rear power window switch would be to kill the power to the push-button.
