The whole "leaning out at top" is getting blown WAY out of proportion...
sure there may be a tendency for LH2.X to get lean at the last 1000 rpms,
but who cares? I believe that it happens but I don't think it matters.
It is a relative thing - these c900 motors are not spontaneously burning
up when you add a StageII APC and step on it. Most people are fine with
the nice power gain from the modded APC and maybe some timing
experimentation. Bigger injectors are icing on the cake, but hurt mileage
on my motor more than they added power. I got my best power increases out
of changes to airflow (intake, exhaust, T3 Super60 turbo, high lift cams,
ported head, FMIC).

My basis --
I built such a motor and drove it hard for 3 years. At the dyno it had
225 at the wheels. When it hit 65k on the rebuild I tore the whole thing
down (for other reasons). There was not one hint of adverse wear, much
less evidence of pre-detonation.

Perhaps I was "on the edge" and was risking complete meltdown. I'll
concede that, because I don't know. But with multiple track days at WOT
all day, I think I put it through worst case testing.

*Motor set up with stock balanced bottom end, stock LH2.2, old Group 6
APC, RRFPR, stock injectors (sometimes) and 24# injectors (other times),
above "airflow mods" etc.
