Naw, these guys are autocross regulars. The Ferarri driver normally autocrosses a modified 944 turbo, and this Ferrari was his back-up car, as his pork chop was in the shop. The Neon driver was just damn smooth... knew the course, knew what his car could and could not do.
I beat the Ferrari, too... but I, too, lost to the Neon. He had one of the FTDs (I had a 60s time for my FTD, his was 58s; the Ferrari's was 65s, I believe). I'm no autocross pro, either, though.
In autocrossing, too much power can slow you down... which levels the playing field. Puts the onus on the driver to know what his car can and cannot do out there, and to know the course.
