With the rising rate fpr's from Trent going for about $100, I don't see the point in spending $40-$65 (depending on who you purchase from) for the 3 bar. My experience with the 3 bar (running 24# injectors w/ LH2.4) is that it comprimises daily driving. I don't lay it out on the highway or race people - I just like quickness and the ability to stomp on it when the impulse arises :) For me, the 3 bar dropped mpg to around 21 mixed and is rich at idle and low rpm. Being a city car, these are the conditions I most experience. I get a "bog" or occasional sluggishness that is annoying. The LH2.4 can and does balance the air/fuel out to be within tolerances, but I can feel a difference (my car, my experience/opinion). So my rational (maybe a little tainted from Taylor's inability to decide) finds it more economical to just get the rrfpr since you'll want it anyway. Compared to what people (me) spend on repairs, parts, go fast bits, beer, an extra $30-$50 is nothing. As always, your experience/method may vary :)
Easy and cheap to grab a 3bar from a junkyard if you're curious - I would suggest this route first. Do a little parts research on some sites. Sometimes you'll find a 3bar labeled for a base 900 for one price and a 3 bar (as an "upgrade") for a turbo at another price.
