Hello,
Not that there aren't benefits to bringing in cooler air, but just as an FYI, the benefit isn't as big as some make it out to be. Usually the biggest improvement in such projects is un-complicating of the air intake path, thus yeilding improvement.
Dyno tests (done by SD, though you may think thay are flawed) showed very little improvement from cold-air intake (1/2 to 1 %) in BHP. A longer intake path benefits you at higher RPM as well (draft/draw principle, similar to not over-size piping exhaust on NA cars). The disadvantage is the longer you make the intake path, the more you affect torque and power at lower RPM, and the more you affect responsiveness.
Just a thought. If you can shorten the path AND get cold air - then thats cool. (no pun intended ;-)
