My 83T is too old to push hard. I have a 3rd gen rx7 tweaked for the track.
Friday Events ...
They have helmits to borrow, best to get your own if you are going to do it often. Convertibles must have roll bar, other then that no loose wheels, no big fluid leaks, and no racing slicks. Simple tech inspection.
Call in res'n 2 weeks min ahead for reduced rates. They sell gas at track ... 100 octane no-lead available, as well as 93.
Usually 3 run groups, for about 20 cars on track at a time. 2 groups where instructors are usually required, then after a few visits get signed off to go solo without instructors. Also allows you to go to harder core 'seat time' events.
Start beginners off with classroom and parade laps to get to know track and lines. For all, passing only allowed on 3 main straits, with permission (hand signal) from car to be passed. This makes car to car incedents almost impossible. never seen one many years of this. you can, however, push too hard too soon ...
First time just need car in good tune with plenty of brake pad remaining, fresh brake fluid. As you start pushing harder, you upgrade brakng stuff.
Can also do BMW, car-guys, and other events, with similar rules.
Lots of fun
