Hmmm...ok well me and some buds(eagle talon, 89 turbo 300ZX, 87 300ZX, Camaro(v6), my saab, and the 240Z) decided to do some "drag racing" The "strip is a perfectly straight 2 miles on a dead end private street, it has been painted out and everything. Both of my cars had 93 octane with 108 octane boost. I noticed quite a difference in the Z, however on the Saab not too much(seat of the pants wise). I did notice that when i get on it the turbo goes 3/4 way into the red, mind you i have never gotten out of the yellow before. I thought it odd but i assume that this is normal when adding boost to your gas. For reference the Saab took all of the vehicles in the 1/4 except the turbo z(all the cars were manual except for the saab). Every car beat the saab of the line. But right around 70 the saab starts creeping by. I was pretty surprised when the Z took(i mean pulling 1 1/2 car lengths all the way until 75, beating me by a car and a half). Well this is way too long sorry. I just thought it was real odd about the octane causing the turbo to surge(according to the gauge) but the car felt no faster.
