Is that back in the 1980's when BMW ran works F1 turbo engines, one of their 1.5 liter four cylinders created in excess of 1400 hp on the dyno - the only reason they didn't figure out the exact figure was the dyno didn't read higher than 1400 bhp... Just to put things in perspective, the basic blocks used in those F1 BMWs was from a used 2002, and the factory found that a nicely seasoned block with around 60,000 miles was optimum. So, buy a used engine from a junked 2002, bolt on one enormous mofo of a turbo, and get 1,400 bhp... no wonder Ron Dennis said it would be more expensive when F1 changed back to atmospheric engines. What's always amused me is, how did this test actually take place... I've always suspected it must have happened on a Friday afternoon, and a lot of Warsteiner was involved... 'Ya, Klaus, turn up dee boost another atmosphere... see vhich vill blow up first, dee motor, dee turbo, or dee dyno...'
