I once considered using an 'A' pillar mount for my gauges, but thought my Saab should be in better taste than looking like half a million Honda Civics and other low budget scooters out there!!
What I did for my Boost gauge was take the clock unit out which is just to the right of the insturment cluster, removed the clock and carfully cut the plastic as needed and fit the boost gauge. The info button and reset button still works and the 3 pin connector for the clock provides power for the light in the boost gauge which is controlled by the stock lighting dimming control.
Once you remove the clock unit you can look in the dash section and see the vacuum hose going to the firewall. Put your hand in there and follow the line to the back of the instrument cluster and gently pull of the vacumm line from the stock boost gauge, you may want to replace the line with one a few inches longer this allows you room to work.
Mine looks like a factory unit, no one can tell unless they familiar with Saabs.
good luck,
John
