hi guys, i want to remove my rear muffler on my 95 9000cse FTP but am unsure if it is legal in NH. i got this piece of text from the NH website stating the inspection criteria for exhaust systems. does it sound like i need to keep my exhaust system standard or do you think i can remove my rear muffler and pass inspection.. appreciate your opinions see below
PART Saf-C 3220 EXHAUST SYSTEM
Saf-C 3220.01 Inspection of Exhaust System Required.
(a) The exhaust system including the exhaust pipe, muffler, resonator, catalytic converter, tailpipe, hangers, brackets, and all other component parts shall be inspected for leakage, improper fastening, or excessive noise pursuant to RSA 266:59.
(b) All vehicles shall be fitted with standard mufflers in good working condition. Original equipment mufflers shall be replaced with comparable mufflers, and the mufflers shall meet the requirements of RSA 266:59.
(c) Except as provided in Saf-C 3220.02, all replacement exhaust systems shall follow the line of the original exhaust. Pickup trucks and any other trucks may be inspected without a tail pipe, provided the muffler extends past the passenger compartment, has a down spout and is not equipped with a camper or other enclosed structure for carrying passengers.
(d) A vehicle shall be rejected if:
(1) It has no tailpipe or muffler.
(2) There are holes, rusted or worn surfaces in any component parts or supporting hardware.
(3) There are loose or leaking joints or leaking seams in any section.
(4) Any part of the exhaust system is not securely fastened.
(5) Any part of the exhaust system passes through the passenger carrying area or trunk.
(6) Muffler jackets or flexible pipe, which does not seal itself, is used in the exhaust system.
(7) The tail pipe end is pinched or damaged.
(8) The muffler has loose or missing interior baffles, or holes which have been repaired with patches.
(9) Noise is given off which exceeds the manufacturer's specifications, or there is a muffler cut-out, muffler by-pass or similar device which allows excessive or unusual noise.
(10) Excessive fumes, smoke, flame, gas, oil or fuel residue is escaping in violation of RSA 266:59.
(11) The catalytic converter is missing on any vehicle with a model year 1985 or newer which was designed to have a factory installed catalytic converter.

Saf-C 3220.02 Outside Pipes. The outside pipe, side-pipe, or exhaust pipe shall meet the following requirements:
(a) The muffler shall be installed according to the manufacturer's specifications and pursuant to RSA 266:59, shall not give off excessive noise, fumes, smoke, flame, gas, oil, or fuel residue.
(b) No exhaust gases shall enter the passenger compartment.
(c) Any flexi-type exhaust piping used shall be self-sealing, free of leaks, holes, patches or defects, properly fastened to the vehicle and used only on the exhaust side of the emission control system.
(d) No part of the exhaust system or exhaust pipe shall extend, in a horizontal direction, beyond the limits of the vehicle's fender wells without heat shielding.
