Got my Forge valve in Black on Friday. Beautiful piece ! Its really too cold to do an install right now, but I peeked under the hood and it looks like there are issues for mounting on the 2000 9-3 that don't apply on the 1999 and earlier cars which have a different setup.

If the valve is mounted so that the long port is to attach to the pressurized side of the manifold, then the valve will not fit in the OEM orientation. I'd have to cut the long port by 1 inch which isn't acceptable. It certainly will need a different rubber hose and bigger clamps than came with the valve on both sides. If the valve is mounted with the short port (piston face) facing the pressurized side of the manifold then it might be OK.

Not much to chose between the 2 orientations in my view operationally, or is there ? Although the only way it will fit in the stock location is 'backwards' to the Bosch unit, with a piston I don't think it matters. As long as the spring can resist the total boost without opening, one should be fine. The transient dynamics might be a bit different if the valve opens faster when pressure is on the piston face and vacuum is applied to the control port. Any thoughts ?

Also it looks like the control line vacuum is applied by a solenoid whose source can be switched between pre and post throttle plate sources by the ECU. Does this negate or enhance the operation of the Forge valve control dynamics in terms of reducing spool down of the turbo ? Has anybody figured out why this new control loop is used ?
