RedBox Tweak or Not? (3.0 FPR)

Hey all! (1990 SPG for reference)
My 3.0 bar FPR from John at Saab Savior should probably get delivered to me today! I bought the 3.0 solely so I could tweak the APC while still delivering enough fuel to the engine... I'll probably install the 3.0 this week, leaving me in the position to tweak my APC (finally!)
I'm stuck debating whether to...
(#1) Simply adjust the P & F pots, and play with them until I can reach the most boost with the OEM APC box setup... or...
(#2) I'm pondering the idea of doing the "Red Box" tweak... http://geocities.com/tv41mxa/tweakyourapc
I'm assuming I can get these required resistors at Radio Shack...
With the Red Box tweak... I'll still need to adjust the P & F pots after the resistors are in, correct?
Will I need a multimeter? Or can I just adjust by feel/boost gauge?
Am I getting in too deep with the Red Box tweak?
Should I just stick with adjusting the P & F pots without replacing resistors?
Or should I go all out and go RedBox?
Thanks for the help all you turbo-geniuses!!!
