I have a couple of opinions. First if you want to run very high boost you have to get past the overboost protection built into the ECU. The easiest way is to use 30# injectors and install a 300 ohm resistor in the output wire from the air mass meter. The will allow 21+psi with out hitting overboost protection.
As for fuel to fill in the lean spots I prefer using a additonal injector in the tube between the intercooler and throttle plate. You can retain the stock fuel pressure regulator and just add fuel in the power map where needed instead of adding a lot of fuel in the mid range to get a little more at the upper end.
There are several brands of fifth injector controllers out there. I have worked with two. The MF2 from Aquamist that coupled with a map sensor and additional injector allows you to add the fuel when and where you need it.
The other I just received is from Excess, this product is just coming to the market here in the US. It is a very interesting unit. I has digital display. It has adjustment based on boost form -0.5 bar to +2.5bar and from 1000rpm to 13500. The boost slop is adjustable every 0.1 bar and the rpm is adjustable every 500rpm. It is adjustable on the fly and very tunable. The Excess unit comes with the mapsensor built in and it will drive up to 4 high impedence injectors.
Using one of these type of units it gives you complete adjustablity. It is almost like having a standalone fuel system but you do not have to figure every thing out. Just complete the map where the stock system leaves hole due to modifications.
