Since the adjustable cam gear doesn't seem to be booming w/ availability and ease for the C900, I thought of another idea to decrease overlap. To change overlap you would have to rotate the intake cam counterclockwise and the exhaust cam clockwise a few degrees, but since it would only be 2-3 degrees. The problem comes trying to design something that could be rotated just those few degrees and not move. Milling out the cam gear key makes it very hard to accurately adjust and secure. Milling a little away from the cam to push the cam gear over makes it questionable unsecure.

From my calculations:
If we were to mill a cam gear slot in a 2.0L c900 exhaust cam that is 112 degrees clockwise from the original, we would now have an intake cam. So say we mill a slot 114deg clockwise in the exh cam and a slot 114.5deg counterclockwise in the intake cam, then switch the locations of the cams. That would create a 11-63/65-7 cam profile, 254/252 duration w/ 18degree overlap and a 3 deg exh advancement. The distributor slot would of course need to be milled if your not running direct ignition, but the cam timing sounds much more attractive than the existing and the same cams end up being used!! I can't see the machining costing that much.

Other combinations:

Two exhaust cams
One 2.0L exhasut cam slotted 113.5deg clockwise
2.0L adj slot/ 2.0L exhaust cams 13-61/61-13
2.0L adj slot/ 85 exhaust cams 13-61/56-10
One 2.0L exhaust cam slotted 115 deg clockwise
2.0L adj slot/ 85 exhaust cams 10-64/56-10
