I would imagine that he used the Ford engine to make installation a bit easier. The distributor for the SB chevy would be hard to position within the firewall. Better engine postition farther back in the chass. More than likely that he just happened to have a wrecked mustang laying around and wanted to build a sleeper. Probably easier to fit the stock Ford dash and console than try to adapt the wiring harnesses to the Saab stuff. I too think it looks like trash. Oddly enough, Bo from "Automotion" (Bellerica,MA.), built the excact same car a few years ago. A green 900T w/Vortech charged Ford V8 and mustang wheels on it. He did a nicer job however. I've got pics of it somewhere.
