Hey Joe. I drive a "HOT" convertible. The Turbo's are the same.(T-25). Software is T-7 vs. T-5 that the 97'comes with. Exhaust is slightly different but trivial to look at. The 205hp Intercooler is the same as the Viggen. The price of the intercooler is only $150(cost) at the dealer. The IC plumbing is different and will cost almost as much. Still very cheap. Your target is very achievable w/out software.
Do a search on the "Dean's list of mods" to do first. Perform these simple modifications. Buy the new intercooler and the plumbing. Buy a Dawe's device Ball-spring MBC or make one yourself w/the help of your local Grainger store. (Grainger P/N:5Z763 and the appropriate Barbs) There are instructions on Gus McMahon's web page. You will easily surpass your goal. If you want more, buy the Saab sport exhaust and free up the air intake a little and you are in business. A total of about $250, or $600 w/the exhaust and air mods. Wheels spin and torque steer coming up. As CK has mentioned, a reprogrammed T-5 ECU is the way to go if you want the big-boost. Expect to pay a minimum of $500.
