9000 Bypass valve & Aquamist function

Question: Do 9000s require a re-circ type BOV or By-pass valve? To the best of my knowledge, a valve which recirculates charged air back into the intake upstream of the turbo is not a mechanical requirement. I believe it is designed this way for customer satisfaction issues so that the driver does not have to hear the air charge venting. By recirculating into the intake, the charge shock wave does not impact the throttle valve and is redirected into the intake. The discharge sound is further amplified when an aftermarket air filter is installed and the original "snail" intake is removed.
2nd question: Does the Aquamist compensate for temperature variations? I do not believe that there are any automatic adjustments for this. I am going to install a shut-off switch on the dash and can override when necessary. The official blurb from Aquamist is as follows, "Aquamist is ERL's latest generation of water-injection equipment. The main function of these systems is to suppress detonation caused by high temperature and pressure developed within the combustion chamber when the effective compression ratio has been taken beyond the auto-ignition point by either a turbo or a supercharger. Water, with its high latent heat content, is extremely effective for controlling not only the onset of detonation but also the production of oxides of nitrogen in the modern leanburn engines."
