ECU upgrade and plug gap

Thanks to Zeke and Karl I've equipped my '95 Aero with a TAQ ECU upgrade and 3" exhaust system. The first day after the change I performed my quarterly major car primp (wash, wax, engine clean with Gunk and low-pressure water rinse, etc.), and thereafter noticed sporadic irregular ignition firing at moderate to full throttle. Performance also felt a bit diminished even when it wasn't misfiring.
My first inspection was for vacuum hoses removed accidently when cleaning the engine, though that wouldn't likely cause a full-throttle misfire, especially since my vacuum/boost guage was giving a normal reading. Next, thinking water may have entered the plug area I removed the DI cassette and after seeing no water applied some dielectric grease to the boots, inside and out, and after two test drives was sure the problem was fixed. However, today I noticed the miss-firing was back again. I then removed the DI cassette again and while staring at the plugs it dawned on me: Duh, spark plug gap! I had overlooked the obvious!
I checked the gap and two were at 1.1mm and two at 1.05mm, both within spec but barely so. I re-gapped to 1mm and viola!, the problem was gone and performance restored!
My question is, given the increase in boost and reprogrammed ECU, where should the plug gap be? Stock (1mm)? Less? Here are the confusing specs:
Owners manual: 1.1 ± 1 (sounds high to me)
Under hood: 1.0 (+.1 -.2)
Service manual: 1.0 (+.1 -.2)
