The track-prepared '86 SPG:
Is lighter, more powerful, and faster.
Is easier to rotate in a corner (either trail braking or lift-off throttle)
Has better grip (Hoosier race tires and more negative camber)
Has better control (Sparco seating and 4-point harnesses)
Has better control (more direct steering, more positive caster, less torque steer)
Has superior brakes (massaged '88+ setup without ABS)
Sounds cooler (3" turbo-to-tip and 1 straight-through muffler)
The SE wins in all other regular driving situations. (heated seats, nice stereo, *love* that automatic climate control including A/C, comfortable ride, low road noise, moonroof, remote entry, easy to drive friends around in, cruise control works, passes emissions no problem, etc.)
That's why it's nice to have a daily drive I guess. The SET probably has the same (or more) potential with the right preparation, but I'm not going to pursue that right now. The SPG is too close to actually making it back on the road w/ the new motor and Trionic. Gotta keep working on that!
