It seems you are correct about the displacement of the BMW (4.4L). It still gets 69 hp/L as opposed to 67 hp/L out of the W8. Not much of a difference but as I already stated, I do not think that the BMW is much better in terms of efficieny in that engine anyway. This is why I brought up the M5 because it gets 80 hp/L. This is why I made my original statement about it getting close to american levels of displacement/power ratios. Shouldn't the W8 be better anyway? It is, after all, new and really cool.
On another note, there is no reason to keep the power down considering what they are charging for the car. You can buy a damn S4 for less than that. All you have to do is put about $10K in the car (making it the same price as the Passat) and it will have over 350 hp. Can you disagree with the advantage of a turbo. This is a perfromace BB.
VW is also going to come out with a larger lux sedan (A8 class) as well as a V12 exotic performance car. They are really trying to dilute their identity in the market. We shall see how it plays out.
