Yes but it doesn't just involve connecting some wires

MSD actually makes a knock detecting unit, summit sales them for 100.00.
I'm not to sure how precise it is though, b/c I'm not sure if it evens observes piston position.
J&S Safeguard will allow to detect knock and retard the timing. Expensive though.
Another option is to do a DiY unit using a US (GM?) knock sensor. Go to this website and click "Do-It-Yourself Knock Indicator (Knock.zip)"
http://acc-electronics.com/cloud/tc_eec.htm
Problem is this DIY doesn't pay attention to piston position
There's a DIY that I read about on Autospeed that does pay attention to piston position but I haven't been able to find the parts and schematics to it. The circuit was designed by Silicone Chip Magazine and was sold by Jaycar Electronics. If you find it let me know.
Another idea is to isolate the knock circuit in the APC and use that.
Any of the above suggestions should of course be checked for accuracy by using auditory (electronic stethoscope) or digitally (oscilloscope w/ piezo/presstrans).
