"often fitted by other SAAB tuners"
Well they would say that wouldn't they! - Abbott charge a hell of a lot of money for a bog standard fixed rate regulator. Go to any fuel injection specialist and you should be able to get a generic regulator (fixed rate) which is adjustable to the pressure you want ( you will need a fuel pressure guage) I got a neat little unit made by Webber which replaced the standard unit on my old 85T16. Cost about 1/3 of what Abbott charge. RRFPR's do work but they need 'tunning' to your particular car and take time to settle in - often requiring resets after a couple of 100 miles. What any regulator, fixed or rising rate, won't do is effectively supply enough fuel to support massivley increased boost. They just help to richen the mixture a bit to improve drivability.
