My SDS sytem is in a '79 turbo. On later efi cars, you can install one carefully, and nobody will ever know it it there..... untill they can't catch you! Seriously, you can have far better performance than any "modified" ecu, never smoke a piston, valve or turbo from lean out again, and when it is time for the old "smog" test - my turbo is lean enough in part throttle cruise and idle modes to pass with plenty of margin. Boost and knock retard is completely adjustable, as is the entire fuel map. I just got rid of my in-tank fuel pump recently, and went to an inline with accumulator (holley). The original pump was adequate, but it was cheaper to use the holley when it died. Definitely a good plan if you are looking to seriously modify things.
