...but u can't *tweak* a di/apc box (tho u can get a new $$ chip for it), so i decided not to. the nice thing about the conversion, tho, is that u can use some of the existing stuff: knock sensor, LH unit, etc. so it should be a pretty clean retrofit...
u are right about the crank sensor part, however, the shutter wheel is different & must come from a di/apc car (different slots). apparently, your '90's oil pump cover is already drilled for the sensor, btw, so no drilling should be req'd.
also, i read on the 'net (which means it could be completely false, so take it fwiw) that the '90 di/apc boxes are problematic to modify cuz of differences between US & Euro programming.
my guess is that u can get as much performance out of mods to your car's existing system as you would be fitting di/apc. of course, if parts are cheap & u can afford to chip it, too, then go for it...
di/apc is slick (trionic even slicker) :-)
