There are ways to install a MBC, perhaps modified, in the line to the boost valve, or in its output to the WG actuator. This can be done in a way to not interfere with the APCs control of boost. The turbo will spool up much faser, but will not create higher boost. What you are doing is preventing the wastegate from opening too soon, which starts spilling exchaust manifold pressure before the target boost is achieved. That problem is basic to bleeder valves, and the factory boost control valve is an electrically modulated bleeder valve. What you need is a valve that opens an adjustable pressure. The MBCs bleed orifice probably needs to be not use, omitted or blocked off. You of course need a ball-spring type MBC, not a basic bleeder type.
You will be changing the systems linear negative feedback to one that is more bi-stable in some respects.
