I have a modded 85 spg which runns verry well but I feel Im now limited by my turbo.
after talking with many a turbo guru I decided what used turbos to buy to build the on that would work best for me.
I called around & one place said they had a new in the box ford T3 never been bolted on for $150 I droped the phone & ran down there & bought what looked like a T3 but a little bigger & the wastgate design was way better I was stoked the turbine housing was bigger & also the compressor was bigger well... after phone calls with turbo gurus I found out it is a new turbo for a powerstroke desil ford truck & is way to big for my aplication no harm done though its worth $700 I can easily sell it for $500
today I looked in the phone book for turbocharging & found a turbo shop 1 hour away that will build me exactly what I want in exchange for the turbo I bought for $150 & do it on the spot balanced & assembled all I got to do is bring him mine & the new turbo everyone else wants between $600 & $750 for the turbo I want so basically Im getting a great turbo for $150 :-)
ford turbine wheel .020 bigger than saab T3
ford turbine housing .63 flute as aposed to saab .48
& either a small T4 compressor or a 300 ZX T3 compressor which will still hit hard at 3krpm or lower but will flow more exhaust & give me more top end
I am so stoked I cant wait
just wanted to share my good fortune
