This is my second summer with 205/55-15s on my '86 SPG. Dry handling is OK, and the tread design sheds water really well. Driving across pools of standing water in the road(3-4" deep in places), I've been surprised by not hydroplaning when I was certain that I would.
They corner about the same as my old potenza re71 195/60-15s, and seem to have a substantially better treadlife. Pretty quiet in a straight line, but they'll howl on big sweeping turns at speed before you even start to drift.
They aren't in the same league as the pirelli p-zero asymmetrico 195/50-15s, but those things wore out so fast you could almost see them unravel- and with an already lowered suspension, speed bumps and driveway entrances became very interesting.
For "budget performance tires", they're pretty good.
