AID = "Advanced Ignition Diaphragm", which is a mechanical vacuum advance/retard capsule that's been modified for better timing. Sold by SPG9.com for ~$200.
MSD is a company that makes performance ignition products, one of which is the "BTM", or Boost Timing Master. Utilizing manifold pressure and electronics, the BTM also provides a progressive timing curve and pre-boost advance.
SAAB C900 and pre-DI/APC 9000 timing was apparently a compromised design to accommodate low grade fuel. For increased performance at boost, as well as for low-end, pre-boost increases, people take matters into their own hands with the above products, both of which achieve the same goal but with different methods.
Lots of info here; search "AID" & "BTM", and read the link. You can also modify your existing vacuum capsule yourself. In particular, look for posts by "Brad", "Johann", et al. I recently posted a web address on the c900 board that describes the process, too.
I have stock ignition, so can't comment on the extent to which these products improve your car's performance. Would be interesting to see actual data.
