You can get lots of pressure from either turbo. You can elect to increase or not increase the pressure with either one. You can change the ECU, or you can add an external boost controller and let it do the job. With the Abbott HO ECU mods, the fuel cut is arount 22 PSI, and it will map fuel up to that point.
The issue with different turbos is mostly heat. The stock turbo can be very responsive for street driving, if you overcome the stock ECU built in performance limitations AKA torque shaping. When you read about getting more power, that means higher torque at the red line RPM limit. The stock turbo is not very effecient at those flow rates and will thus create an air charge that is quite hot. A larger turbo will be more efficient at these flow rates and the air charge will be cooler and thus more dense.
For a boost modified vehicle, depending on the level of boost, the stock turbo may actually not be able to maintain the boost setting at max RPMs and the prssure will droop. For high pressure applications this is sometimes considered beneficial as the durability of the engine at those RPM's at pressure is in question. If not mechanically, thermally.
The stock T25 turbo in the NG900's will hold 15PSI all the way to the red line. With an Abbott 1.3BAR setup, I don't know. With an external boost controller and a stock ECU this is possible with the boost controller pressure tap at the intake manifold, but not with the pressure tap at the compressor housing. Note that when using the ECU to control boost, stock or Abbott, the pressure control point is at the manifold, even though the boost control valve take pressure from the comressor housing. In this case the ECU is the controller and the stock solenoid valve is only a servo.
