I have a very good friend that I ride with regularly and he owns one of these BEAST of a motorcycle. The thing has a 1,300 cc engine and makes about 175hp, and weighs about 550 wet. I think stock they do the 1/4 mile in about 9.8 seconds for those who can hold on and probably about 10.2 for those who are kinda scarded to give it full throttle in 2nd gear. I have never riden it but, have been left in the dust plenty of time by him. On the top end though, it different as I can keep up and not get left behind. I ride a Honda CBR 1100XX (Super Blackdird) and it's been moded a little bit. Still I'm only seeing maybe 145hp max. I've taken it to an indicated 155 on the speedo and it's freaking scary and fun both at the same time. The BIRD tops out at about 175-180 ish while the Hayabusa does easily about 190 mph at it's top end. I've also known a few guys who've gotten themselves in plenty of trouble(physically) with these machines because they lack general respect for what they can do to you if you either can't ride them, or are just plan stupid with them. Respect the machines power and you'll live long enouth to ride again.
The "Hayabusa" is some form of bird by the way in Japan or that part of the world. Supposidly it's one of the fastest flying birds on this planet.
See Ya,
Phil
