Hey everyone
I'm getting a set of 16" Super Aero OR Aero wheels in the next week or so for my 1990 SPG. Even though I got shot down by TSW, and the Foreglines cost too much, I decided the Aero wheels route was the best one to take. Defiantly the best looking wheel for a c900 IMHO. Now this wheel purchase is final! ( :
Anyway-- I plan on using the Air Lift 1000 Load Assist Rear Spring Kit Airbag System (Part number 60756 -- $62 from Summit Racing) with 205/50/16 tires. I decided on 205/50/16 even though my SPG is lowered with Intrax springs. Versus the 205/45/16... There is less gap between the tire and wheel arch, the ride is less harsh/more comfortable, and better protection to the wheel on these VERY harsh roads of Pennsylvania.
What brand & model should I look into for tires for my new Aero wheels?
I want a sticky, sporty tire. I want the treadwear to be exceptionally good (280-300). Total cost, under $400 shipped.
I was looking at the Yokohama Parada Spec-2 205/45/16 tire, but they don't carry 205/50/16.
Here's what I'm looking into....
Kumho ECSTA Supra 712's
Sumitomo HTR Z II's
Yokohama A520's
Falken GR Beta FK-451's
All available in 205/50/16 with very similar ratings all around.
Any opinions/feedback is much appreciated!
Thanks so much!
Taylor
