So today we tried to get my 90 900t running a bit better after getting the 2.1 head/intake/cams on. Before it would sorta feel like it was sputtering as it accelerated. We swapped out the 300ohm resistor on the amm for a 270ohm, which smoothed it out a bit. We then took it on the freeway for a test. Amazingly, even while it still sputtered a bit, be played with a new m3 and it was only able to pull on us slightly.

We then went back home, and hooked up the dawes device to the aid to correct the timing. My timing is set to about 19 degrees, and using a hand pump without the dawes device we saw that when pumped to 15 psi the timing went to about 4 degrees, way too much!

When we installed the dawes, we had a hard time pumping it up to 15psi because the pressure kept going down in the pump, no matter how fast we pumped. However, we did our best adjusting it until the timing was at about 10 degree. The results we got were strange and surprising....After a test run, we found that the sputtering is still there slightly, though less appearant, but when accelerating hard we felt a kick at 4500 rpms. In one run we felt the kick and then the front wheel simultaneously broke loose.

Boost seems to be holding pretty steady to 20psi with small fluctuations, and the a/f gauge reads 2 bars rich under full throttle. We attemped to adjust the dawes to make the power kick (it really felt like vtec was kicking in on a honda) happen at a lower rpm but we couldnt get it right. Any ideas what is going on?
