no worries.
i'm not a cam guy, so keep that in mind, but i'll tell what i know. the cams i have were ground by progressive automotive in tacoma, wa. they also did the head work for my car. when i ordered the work, i picked their stage 3 of 4 (they said 4 was race only and wouldn't pass emissions). so the cams were done as part of the head work. i'm not sure if the cams were done with the head as a combo, or if the cams were done to a template they had. not really knowing enough to give lift and duration numbers, i left it up to the experts. and i actually went through scanwest autosport in seattle, wa. your best bet to get more info is to give them a call and talk to jeff (206)789-2819. he will be able to provide you with the info, and/or get you the number to progressive. as far as hp gain, that's unknown. when i built the engine i assembled it with all the modifications together and not in stages. so it's hard to say what the net improvement of each component was. i can tell you that at one point i did pull the cams and replace with stock cams because i was chasing another issue and didn't want the cams exaggerating it. when i put the stock cams in, i realized how pinched the engine breathing seemed at higher rpms (5000+). with the p.a. cams in, the engine never sounds like it is running out of breath, and i've had it up to 7000 rpm with the new ecu. better yet, my peak hp with the cams starts about 5500 rpm'ish and continues until my 7000 rpm redline, pretty flat. it's one of those things you don't realize until you change it and then you notice how it was before. the cams also provide a lumpier idle. it definitely gives the engine a much more aggressive sound. but, that's not why you do cams, you do them for performance. and about all i can say is they have done their job in allowing the engine to breath much better. sorry i can't quantify it better than that. hope this helps.
