I've done the following power-related things to my 1998 SET – in order of $$$
K&N Filter - no difference, just makes me feel faster
TB transition sanding - ditto
Airbox mod - ditto, plus now can hear the turbo spool up
Viggen IC - smoother boost ramp up, some more torque at mid and full throttle
Saab Sport exhaust - sounds cool, not too loud, noticeable low-end boost in power!
Saab 205hp HOT computer - mine came stock w/ 185hp computer. I'm not making this car a race car (yet) so I was pleasantly surprised to find this ECU is very smooth and drives similar to stock but with noticeably more midrange torque and no power taper at high rpm. Now it boosts smoothly to 15psi and holds to redline, whereas old ECU would max 12psi (sometimes w/ a little overshoot to 14psi) and settle to 9-10psi by redline. Yee haw! $350 at the dealer if you know who to ask (ie, get a discount).
